My Work
Like most girls, I had an interest in dolls. My favorite dolls where the ones that required additional "attention". I spent many hours repairing, costuming, and playing with them.

In 1978, I began sculpting dolls, experimenting with a variety of sculpting mediums. One such material was Super Sculpey. As I held a lump of Super Sculpey in my hand, it seemed to take on a life of its own. I found it very responsive to my touch as I created a crowd of doll heads on sticks that were in need of supportive bodies. After many prototypes, I designed a fully articulated armature that is necessary to achieve the realism that I desire in my sculptures. I sculpt my dolls, and create accessories and props, using a two and three inch to a foot scale.

Emotions are captured in the clay as I sculpt a life story for each piece. All of my pieces, regardless of their station in life, maintain a sense of quiet dignity. Even in a seemingly hopeless situation, one can still sense a glimmer of hope and a love of life present within them. I do not limit myself to a single era in time, instead I create dolls from many different eras. I utilize subjects from all walks of life, be they factual, fictional, or mythical.

I welcome the opportunity to share my skills with others, and constantly strive to learn new techniques. My goal is to continue refining and perfecting my work. In doing so, I will forever capture a kaleidoscope of moments in time.
